Why ‘Wild Willow’

At Wild Willow Psychology, our name reflects our core values. The willow tree symbolises resilience — the ability to bend, not break, in the face of life’s challenges. Just like the willow, we believe in adaptability, strength, and growth through adversity.

The word “wild” represents authenticity and self-acceptance—your true self is always welcome and valued here.

At Wild Willow Psychology, we create a space where you can explore, heal, and thrive, knowing that your unique experiences and emotions are met with understanding and support.

Meet the Team

Jessica Faulkner

Psychologist

Hi, I’m Jess. 👋

I’m a registered psychologist and the founder of Wild Willow Psychology. Owning my own practice has always been a dream, but I never imagined it would happen so soon. When the opportunity came, I took it with both hands and never looked back.

My journey in psychology began in 2014 when I started a Bachelor of Psychological Studies at Central Queensland University (CQU), graduating with First Class Honours in 2017. I spent several years working in out-of-home care before returning to CQU in 2021 to complete my Master in Clinical Psychology. I graduated with Distinctions in 2023. I'm currently completing my Clinical Registrar Program, which, once finished, will qualify me as an endorsed Clinical Psychologist.

But there’s more to me than my degrees! I’m a coffee lover, gym goer, bookworm, musician, and a huge fan of Grey’s Anatomy and Taylor Swift (if you know the connection between these two, you’re my person!). Most importantly, I’m a mum, partner, daughter, sister, and friend.

At Wild Willow Psychology, my goal is simple: to be the person I would have loved to have had when I was navigating childhood, my teenage years, or early adulthood. I’m passionate about creating a space where you can show up as your true, authentic self—vulnerable, messy, and everything in between. However you come, is fine by me.
